I hate Microsoft support…
Long story short, Office Communications Server 2007 worked fine in a dev environment, but I’m running into issues when trying to put it into production on a server in the DMZ, specifically when it tries to prep Active Directory. I’ve tried multiple ways of getting around this to fix the problem like doing the prep on the domain controller, which worked but it apparently still has issues seeing the changes on the server I want to deploy it on. I’ve looked up the error codes on google, technet, etc and still haven’t come across a solution. So I decided to bite the bullet and call Microsoft support and pay the damn $260 or whatever to get it resolved cause I’m sick of messing with OCS at this point. The woman that answered got all my information and after about 15 minutes of answering random questions about the issue, she transferred me to talk to the next available technician (she told me there was one available at the time). That was an hour ago. Someone finally answered because of the long on-hold time and told me that there still wasn’t a technician available and they’ll have to do a call back within 2 hours. So far, I’ve paid Microsoft $260 to sit on hold for an hour and listen to their shitty ass on-hold music before someone picked up to tell me they’ll just call me back in a bit. Love the service so far….
